Compared with the traditional drum-type ball mill, the planetary ball mill is arranged with four stations, and two, four or even eight ball mill jars can be placed for simultaneous grinding. Jars of different materials can also be used to adapt to different samples.

However, as the number of ball mill tanks increases, there are some details that we need to pay attention to when using planetary ball mills:

1) It is strictly forbidden to overload the ball mill tank. In addition to filling the sample and grinding balls, the ball mill tank also needs to reserve at least one-third of the grinding space;

2) After filling the ball mill tank with samples, the lid should be tightly closed and placed in the tank holder to ensure tightness and prevent loosening and leakage during the grinding process;

3) When placing the ball mill tank, the running balance of the main wheel should be maintained, which imposes requirements on the weight and position of the ball mill tank.

The total weight of each ball milling jar + grinding ball + sample + grinding aid should be basically the same. The other two ball milling jars should be placed symmetrically. If the sample amount is too small and only one ball milling jar is used, one needs to be placed on the opposite side. Tanks with basically equal weights are counterweighted;

4) Ball mill tanks of different materials should be used for different types of sample processing;

5) Ball mill jars made of fragile materials such as agate jars and corundum jars should be handled with care. 

6) The equipment should be kept ventilated, dry and clean when in use, and there should be no other foreign matter where the ball mill tank is placed.
