There are two aspects to pay attention to when configuring grinding balls. One is the ball material assembly ratio, and the other is the ratio of the number of large and small balls.

1. Regarding the ball material assembly ratio, we can use 1/3 of the volume of the ball mill tank to load the sample, 1/3 to load the grinding balls, and the other one-third as the grinding space, or we can reserve the grinding space. Under this condition, control the mass ratio of the grinding ball to the sample to be between 0.9 and 1.1.

2. For the selection of the number of large and small grinding balls, we can follow the principle of "Equal surface area of large and small balls". First calculate the surface area of grinding balls of different diameters, and then keep the total surface area of grinding balls of each diameter roughly equal, and you can calculate how many grinding balls of each diameter are needed.

Note: The recommended configuration of grinding balls is suitable for the case where the sample feed particle size is small. If the sample feed particle size is large, you can increase the number of large balls and reduce the number of small balls as appropriate to enhance the crushing effect, and then increase the number of small balls.
